Weekly pairings set for CU Buffs’ Pac-12 men’s basketball schedule – BuffZone
The last blanks on the pages have yet to be put in ink, but Colorado’s men’s basketball team essentially has its 2022-23 schedule in place.
On Monday, the Pac-12 conference released its weekly pairings for the league’s regular schedule from late December through the end of the regular season. The exact dates and order of matches will be announced later, along with whistleblowing times and TV news.
After hosting Arizona State (Dec. 1) and visiting Washington (Dec. 4) during the Pac-12 standalone season start dates, the Buffaloes will open the regular portion of the league schedule with the trip of two Bay Area games against Stanford and Cal over New Years weekend. This is the third straight season the Buffs were scheduled to open regular Pac-12 play on the road, although the initial postponement of Oregon’s road games last year instead allowed CU to open weekly Pac-12 play at home.
CU follows with a weekend at home against Oregon Schools before embarking on another two-game road trip through Los Angeles to take on USC and UCLA. While the schedule is fairly balanced between home and road dates for the remainder of the run, the Buffs will play three consecutive road games at Utah (February 8-12), followed by a weekend to face the Arizona and Arizona State.
After that two-week road swing, CU is expected to close out the regular season with three straight home games, hosting Los Angeles Schools before finishing the regular season ledger against Utah (likely March 4).
CU released its non-conference schedule nearly three weeks ago, with an opening date against UC Riverside on Nov. 7. The Buffs will spend the next two weeks on the road, playing Grambling (November 11) and Tennessee (November 13). in Nashville) before returning home briefly ahead of the three-game Myrtle Beach Invitational, which kicks off Nov. 17 against UMass.
From there, the Buffs are mostly home before the start of weekly Pac-12 play, except for the Dec. 4 date in Washington. This includes home games against Yale (November 27), ASU (December 1), Colorado State (December 8), North Alabama (December 15) and Southern Utah (December 21).
