Ohio Military Hall of Fame honors Locker

COLUMBUS – The 22nd annual Ohio Military Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the Valor Class of 2021 is scheduled for Friday, September 24 at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium, starting at 11:30 am The public is invited to attend.
This year’s class of 15 inductees includes SGT. James Douglas Locker of the US Air Force, who was killed in action in Vietnam, and was posthumously awarded his third Silver Star. His remains were returned to the United States in 2003 and buried in Sidney with full military honors.
These remarkable Ohioians all went above and beyond the call of duty and heroically performed specific combat actions against the armed enemies of the United States of America. For their actions, members of this class received distinctions such as the Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, the Distinguished Aviation Cross, the Bronze Star with device ” V âand the praise medal withâ V â.
This year’s ceremony will bring the total number of inductees into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor to 437 from across Ohio, twelve of whom have received the Medal of Honor.
The Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor was established in 2000 to recognize service members and women in Ohio who have been decorated for their heroism in combat situations.
