TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Guarantee: Your instrument is warranted to be free of functional defects for a period of one year from the date of delivery, provided the instrument has not been neglected or mistreated in any manner. The remedy for claims by the warrantee shall be at the discretion of the harpsichord maker.

Purchasing: At the moment my waiting list is 24 months long. Depending on the instrument ordered, the process of making it can take from two to twelve months or more from the day construction starts. When you place your order after discussion with me, a $100.00 deposit is due. When I am ready to start your instrument, a one-third down payment is due. A second payment will be due half way through the construction process. Unless other arrangements have been made the final payment plus crating costs is due before delivery of the instrument. Electronic funds transfer (bank to bank) is the preferred and most secure means of payment. I also accept cashier's checks and money orders in U.S. dollars drawn on banks within the United States and Canada. I am always willing to discuss alternative payment methods.

All prices are in U.S. funds. All costs incurred by me for the purpose of delivering the instrument to the purchaser are payable on delivery. This may include, but is not limited to: crating costs, ground transportation, cartage, air freight, duty, taxes, insurance.

Shipping: Generally is by air freight, fully insured, collect. Shipping to destinations in the United States, Canada and to international destinations other than the U.S. is FOB Bloomington, Indiana, USA. Depending on the instrument to be shipped, the crating charge will run between US$250.00 and US$450.00.

At right is an open crate packed full of a Flemish two manual harpsichord, styrofoam bead board, stand, music desk and accessories, just about to go to Florida. Before an instrument is accepted for air freight, it must be inspected (for bombs, etc.) by the carrier, so the lid is left open until it has been cleared.

Of course, my customers are invited to come to Hamilton to pick up their instruments if they have an appropriate vehicle. Also, if it suits my schedule and the drive is not too far, I can sometimes be persuaded to deliver the instrument personally, provided my costs are covered.
