WOOD HARPSICHORD JACKS

These are hand made jacks, the same ones I use in my instruments. The bodies are made from premium quarter sawn Swiss pear wood for French jacks, or European beech for Italian jacks. The tongues are crafted from holly. The plectrum mortice is punched at approximately a 4 degree angle. Axle pins are nickle plated steel. Springs are .012" brass wire. Brass wire is used instead of boar bristle for several reasons - it doesn't get eaten by insects as boar bristle does, its tension can be adjusted easily, it does not wear out, and if something untoward should happen, it is easily replaced. The jacks come fully assembled and tested but without dampers, and are fully guaranteed. Longer body lengths are available to order.
